About the Programme
B. Sc. Nursing is a four-year undergraduate programme focused on developing critical care, advanced thinking skills, proficiency and values necessary for the practice of professional nursing and midwifery as mentioned in the National Health Policy 2002. The programme is streamlined to enable students to address the health needs of the nation, society and individuals.The programme prepares students to become responsible citizens by following a code of moral values and conduct at all times while fulfilling personal, social and professional responsibilities to respond to national objectives. B. Sc. Nursing programme involves classroom study, projects and assignments that enable students to gain practical knowledge of their learning. After the completion of the programme, the students are required to undergo a six-month internship to experience real-world clinical settings and learn from them. Candidates looking for more knowledge in the same field may pursue higher education for challenging career opportunities.

· PEO1: To prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses and midwives in providing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services.

BSN 101: The course is designed to enable students to acquire knowledge of the normal structure of various human body systems and understand the alterations in anatomical structures in disease and practice of nursing. The Phsiology course is designed to assist the students to acquire knowledge of the normal physiology of various human body systems and understand the alterations in Physiology in disease and practice of nursing.
BSN 102: The Course is designed to assist the students to acquire knowledge of nutrition for maintenance of optimum health at different stages of life and its application of practice of nursing. Biochemistry course is designed to assist the students to acquire knowledge of the normal biochemical composition and functioning of human body and understand the alterations in biochemistry in diseases for practice of nursing.
BSN 103: This course is designed to help the students to develop an understanding of the philosophy objectives theories and process of nursing in various Supervised Clinical settings. It is aimed at helping the students to acquire knowledge understanding and skills in techniques of nursing and practice them in supervised clinical settings.
BSN 104: This course is designed to assist the students to acquire knowledge of fundaments of psychology and develop an insight into behavior of self and others. Further it is aimed at helping them to practice the principles of mental hygiene for promoting mental health in nursing practice.
BSN 105: This course is designed to enable students to acquire understanding of fundamentals of Microbiology and identification of various micro-organisms. It also provides opportunities for practicing infection control measures in hospital and community settings.
BSN 106: The Course is designed to enable students to enhance ability to comprehend spoken and written English (and use English) required for effective communication in their professional work students will practice their skills in verbal and written English during clinical and classroom experiences.
BSN 107: This course is designed for students to develop basic understanding of uses of computer and its applications in nursing.

BSN 301: The purpose of this course is to acquire knowledge and develop proficiency in caring for patients with medical and surgical disorders in varieties of health care settings and at home.
BSN 302: This course is designed for developing an understanding of the modern approach to child-care identification prevention and nursing management of common health problems of neonates and children.
BSN 303: This course is designed for developing an understanding of the modern approach to mental health identification prevention and nursing management of common mental health problems with special emphasis on therapeutic interventions for individuals family and community.
BSN 304: The Course is designed to enable students to develop an understanding of basic concepts of research research process and statistics. It is further structured to conduct/participate in need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to provide quality nursing care. The hours for practical will be utilized for conduct individual/group research project.

BSN 401: This course is designed for students to appreciate the concepts and principles of midwifery and obstetrical nursing. It helps them to acquire knowledge and skills in rendering nursing care to normal and high risks pregnant woman during antenatal natal and postnatal periods in hospitals and community settings. It also helps to develop skills in managing normal and high risk neonates and participate in family welfare program.
BSN 402: This course is designed for students to practice community health nursing for the individual family and groups at both urban and rural settings by using concept and principles of health and community health nursing.
BSN 403: This course is designed to enable students acquire understanding of management of clinical and community health nursing services nursing educational programmes. This is also designed to enable students to acquire understanding of the professional responsibilities prospects and contribution to the growth of the profession.
