Role Overview
The District Business Head (DBH) will be responsible for establishing, scaling, and managing GaonBazaar's marketplace operations at the district level. The role involves onboarding service providers and sellers, driving customer acquisition, managing block-level teams, and ensuring demand fulfillment across rural and semi-urban markets.
This is a leadership + business ownership role, ideal for candidates who want to build a district-level business unit with performance-linked earnings.
Key Responsibilities
1. District Operations & Business Ownership
Act as the single-point business owner for GaonBazaar operations in the assigned district
Develop and execute district-level business plans, revenue targets, and growth strategies
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics
2. Service Provider & Seller Onboarding
Identify and onboard local service providers, tradesmen, MSMEs, distributors, retailers, farmers, and professionals
Ensure proper verification, category mapping, pricing alignment, and service readiness
Build a strong supply network across blocks, tehsils, and villages
3. Customer Acquisition & Demand Generation
Drive household-level and business-level demand for local services and products
Implement local marketing, outreach, surveys, and awareness campaigns
Coordinate tele-calling, field surveys, and lead generation activities
4. Team Leadership & Field Management
Recruit, train, and manage Block Coordinators, Supervisors, Survey Executives, and Field Associates
Set daily targets, monitor field productivity, and ensure discipline and accountability
Conduct regular reviews, coaching, and performance evaluations
5. Marketplace Execution & Order Fulfilment
Ensure end-to-end execution of service requests and product orders
Coordinate between customers, service providers, logistics partners, and internal teams
Monitor service quality, timelines, pricing, and customer satisfaction
6. Revenue, Margin & Payout Management
Track district-level revenue, commissions, incentives, and partner payouts
Ensure transparent billing, collections, and settlement processes
Improve margins through better vendor negotiation and operational efficiency
7. Stakeholder & Institutional Relations
Build relationships with Panchayats, SHGs, NGOs, Schools, Government field offices, and local influencers
Represent GaonBazaar in district-level meetings, events, and partnerships
Support CSR, government schemes, and rural development collaborations
8. Reporting, Compliance & Documentation
Maintain accurate MIS, daily reports, block-wise performance data
Ensure compliance with company SOPs, quality standards, and ethical practices
Share insights, challenges, and improvement suggestions with Head Office
Eligibility & Preferred Profile
Education
Graduate / Postgraduate (any stream)
MBA / Rural Management / Marketing is an advantage
Experience
3–10+ years in sales, operations, field management, rural marketing, distribution, micro-entrepreneurship, or marketplace models
Prior experience managing teams or territories preferred
Required Skills
Strong leadership and people management skills
Excellent local area knowledge of the district
Field execution, negotiation, and relationship-building ability
Basic understanding of digital tools, CRM, reporting
Entrepreneurial mindset with ownership attitude
Earning Model / Compensation
Revenue Share + Incentives + Performance Bonus
Potential monthly earning: ₹30,000 to ₹1,50,000+ per district
